Kwara Assembly directs state government to pay Akerebiata contractor 6.1 million

Kwara State House of Assembly has directed that a sum of six point one million naira be paid to the contractor of the Ultra Modern Abattoir Project, Akerebiata, Ilorin.

This was part of the resolutions of the House after considering the Report of House Committee on Commerce, Industry, Women Affairs and Social Development chaired by Hon. Babatunde Abdul-Kareem-Paku lawmaker representing Malete-Ipaye-Oloru Constituency.

Honourable Abdulkareem-Paku while acting on a Letter titled, Passionate Appeal on the Intervention on the Settlement of Outstanding Payment for construction of the market written by the contractor.

The House also directed that a Memorandum of Understanding be drafted and signed between the investor, Voladotun Venture, Ministry of Local Government and Ilorin-East Local Government to enable the investor to recoup his funds.

It also tasked the investor to take necessary steps and engage the end-users, the butchers to put the facility into use and stop the unhygienic method of animal slaughtering to ensure the cleanliness of the environment.
